Are you responsible for remitting the dealership's tax to the state of Ohio? Are you looking for clarification that you are completing your remittances to the State of Ohio correctly? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, please tune in to this webinar, presented by OADA with tax experts from the Ohio Department of Taxation.

This webinar will cover an overview of sales and use tax changes, and developments for motor vehicle dealers that remit tax to the state of Ohio. We will cover updates of these changes, and their impact on Ohio's motor vehicle dealers. First, this session will focus on recent statutory changes including, but not limited to, changes to the definition of a motor vehicle. In addition, we will provide information about Ohio's treatment of tax credits for taxes paid to another state.

The webinar will then shift gears, and discuss correspondence and outreach that the Department has taken recently to identify the sales of leased vehicles in Ohio and how the motor vehicle dealer should be reporting these types of sales. We will also touch on the tax treatment of sales to out of state customers, and the proper calculations.

Our presenters will be Laura Stanley, who is Legal Counsel for sales and use taxes for the Ohio Department of Taxation, within the Business Tax Division. In this position, Laura is responsible for drafting final determinations, legal ruling requests, administrative rules, information releases, and reviewing proposed legislation, as well as advising the Administrators of the Business Tax Division and Commissioner's Office on legal matters. Joining her will be Steven Russell, Assistant Administrator of the Business Tax Division. Both are eager to answer any questions our members may have about recent department activity or policies.

There is a $20 connection fee for OADA members. Non-member dealers will pay a $50 connection fee. Register today!
